First Workshop

This past Friday we had our very first teacher workshop with the English teachers that work with Hope and Development.

This is our handsome group of teachers. Some of us are sporting the new H&D polos. Nicaraguans love polo shirts. Many businesses and organizations get their logo embroidered on the shirts and they are seen as showing importance and making one look official. If only that's all it took!

We had lunch together and then practiced and discussed ideas for teaching English as a foreign language. The teachers were thrilled to have a chance to meet together and practice their English. The only negative comments regarding the workshop were focused on the size of the room and the small chairs they had to sit in. Oh, and one person wasn't happy with the amount of time spent. Apparently two hours wasn't enough. He wanted to go all day!

I'm thrilled to be done with this first one, and even more excited to continue with workshops in the future. I work with an incredible group of teachers who really desire to learn more and to become better teachers. What a blessing!
